magicianhandsIn an attempt to fight the international credit market turmoil and its effects on economic activity and overall prices, the US Federal Reserve (Fed) keeps increasing the supply of base money — which is cash in circulation and commercial banks’ money balances held with the Fed.
From August 2008 to May 2009, the monetary base in the United States more than doubled. The bulk of the expansion reflects an unprecedented rise in banks’ excess reserves — that is, banks’ base money which is available for additional credit and money creation.

What’s good for the goose is good for the gander is Fair Play.

June 29, 2009

Fair Play, economist Steven Landsburg states this eloquently in a passage on the importance of rights, tolerance, and pluralism (p. 92):

You and I disapprove of bigotry. But the private virtue of tolerance and the public virtue of pluralism require us to countenance things we do not approve. Tolerance means accepting the fact that other people’s values might be very different than your own. Pluralism means eschewing the use of political power as a means for ‘correcting’ those values.

The idea of tolerating intolerance sounds suspiciously paradoxical, but so do a lot of other good ideas—like freedom of speech for advocates of censorship. In fact, freedom of speech has a lot in common with tolerance: Neither of them means a thing unless it applies equally to those we applaud and those who offend us most viscerally.

Tolerance is ennobling, which is why we should teach it to our children. Pluralism is insurance against tyranny, which is why we should demand it of our government. To speak up for even the most despised minorities is both morally right and politically prudent.

Made in the USA or NOT?

June 28, 2009

Proof Barack Obama is not made in the USA?

It is interesting how things hit my email at just the right time.

First I get an email from WND telling about the guy who is selling Barack Obama’s legitimate Kenyan Birth certificate on E-Bay. Before I could get in to verify (site was down because there was to much traffic) the sale was scrubbed from the server.

Not much of a surprise there. I figured after paying hundreds of thousands to keep all of the Obama records hidden from the public this would not fly for long.

The sale emerged again after ebay claimed the sale had been removed because they THOUGHT someone was playing a joke on the seller and had hijacked his site. The second time the sale was removed because now ebay decided the birth certificate was not allowed because it exposed personal information of a public official.

It was then posted a 3rd time but now is gone again … not sure what the latest excuse is for the removal.

More details …

Next I got the email below. Apparently a situation that is a product of our simply not paying attention to what is going on around us.

John Smith started the day early having set his alarm clock MADE IN JAPAN for 6 am. While his coffeepot MADE IN CHINA was perking, he shaved with his electric razor MADE IN HONG KONG. He put on a dress shirt MADE IN SRI LANKA, designer jeans MADE IN SINGAPORE and tennis shoes MADE IN KOREA.

After cooking his breakfast in his new electric skillet MADE IN INDIA he sat down with his calculator MADE IN MEXICO to see how much he could spend today. After setting his watch MADE IN TAIWAN to the radio MADE IN INDIA he got in his car MADE IN GERMANY filled it with GAS from Saudi Arabia and continued his search for a good paying AMERICAN JOB . At the end of yet another discouraging and fruitless day checking his Computer MADE IN MALAYSIA, John decided to relax for a while.

He put on his sandals MADE IN BRAZIL, poured himself a glass of wine MADE IN FRANCE and turned on his TV MADE IN INDONESIA, and then wondered why he can’t find a good paying job in AMERICA .

AND NOW HE’S HOPING HE CAN GET HELP FROM A PRESIDENT MADE IN KENYA.

Communist Educated Half Negro Wins Cap and Trade Battle

June 27, 2009
Posted by Economics9698 @ 12:07 PM

obama-pic1An estimated 3,500,000 jobs will be lost due to this new energy tax. Any manufacturing advantage we had with cheap energy is now going to be lost. To make matters worse the bill has hidden tariffs that are triggered if our trading partners don’t follow our legislation. This means a possible trading war with China and India.

Carbon-intensive imports would be subject to penalties at the border unless the country of origin requires emission reduction measures at least 80 percent as costly as ours. So a poor country like Mexico cannot possibly hope to meet this requirement. This trade war will be the equivalent of Smoot-Hawley passed in 1931 when unemployment was 10% and by 1933 unemployment was 25%. According to the House Ways and Means Committee the president would now be forced to impose the carbon tariffs — and could only opt out of doing so with permission from both chambers of Congress.

Clearly this president is going for the FDR record unemployment of 25%. This was a huge tax increase if 60% to 80% on energy will be brutally compounded with this trade war legislation written into it. What is this president going after?

Total dictatorship like FDR enjoyed in the 1930’s.

Presidency for life like Hugo Chavez enjoys and FDR lived.

Peasant class for 95% of Americans. To a liberal all you really need is some fruit and nuts to survive. Unless you’re Ted Kennedy.

Subjection of the white race in Europe and America to Arabs, Jews, Negros and Latinas.

The time for action is this 4th of July. TEA parties are scheduled all over America. Find out where one is in your area and attend.

David Jr. meets his commander in chief

June 26, 2009
Posted by clinicalthinker @ 19:17 PM

I got this in an email yesterday … I checked snopes and they are checking to see if it is authentic.

I do not know how reliable snopes is when it comes to Obama we will see.

When Obama hit the scene I was so disenchanted with the Republican party I had decided to vote for him. The moment the Rev. got kicked into the limelight that ended. It does not take rocket science to understand if Obama sat through Sundays with the Rev. he was part of the flock. You know the old birds of a feather adage.

We all know as time went on the situation grew worse. In the end the truth of the matter is Obama was shoved over the top by those who hated Bush so much Obama was the only choice.

Interesting psychology from my perspective because it means they would rather sacrifice their freedom for someone who is fast selling our nation down the river.

What a pity!

Anyway the story below does not surprise me a bit. It is clear to anyone who pays attention to the behavior of people that Obama and his wife are shallow people. That too is a pity.

For those who do not know Dave Borden, he is a former Black & Decker employee who lives in Hanover . His son Dave Jr was serving in Iraq and was badly injured from a bomb explosion. Dave Jr has had over 38 surgeries to date. The email below is from Dave about a recent visit with President Obama, —-the email speaks for its self.

Since Dave Jr. has been injured he has met and been overwhelmed by many, many political and military “celebs”. The list includes Bob Gates, Sec. of Defense, who came into his room and told him 3 or 4 times that if Dave Jr. had any issues to call his cell phone number. It includes Gen. Petereus who sat and talked with Dave Jr. for almost 45 minutes. The General recalled vividly all of the circumstances around the events that led to fighting that Dave was involved in. It includes Sen. McCain who arrived late on a Saturday afternoon during a thunder storm, unannounced, and talked to Dave Jr. about how similar their experiences with fate. It includes George Bush when Dave Jr. was invited to attend the very last Christmas party at the White House for the White House Staff. President Bush and his wife entered the ballroom and immediately went to Dave Jr.. President Bush knew Dave Jr.’s name as well as when and how he was injured. Dave Jr. had a picture taken with Laura and the President that he has framed and ill cherish forever. The list goes on and on of people coming in to meet Dave Jr. and the other wounded warriors at Walter Reed and Bethesda .

Yesterday Dave Jr. was ordered to be at the National Naval Hospital with another 12 soldiers and Marines to meet with Obama. Obama was supposed to arrive at 11:30 AM. He finally got there at 3:00 PM. He entered the room with the wounded warriors and quickly shook each of their hands. He never asked their names, where they were from, or how they were injured. Then he left.

Dave Jr. has met the people who really care about the military. All he remembers from Obama is a weak handshake. The others in the room, younger and less exposed to the people that Dave Jr. has met, were so disappointed. Word about Obama’s “insensitive” visit has spread to the MATC (the rehab facility) at Walter Reed and throughout Bethesda . The military sees through his phoniness.

All I can say is that it is such a disappointment that this man is Commander-In-Chief of our Armed Forces. He is an embarrassment to our Nation.

Regards,
Dave

The Principals of Secession-Where are the Lawyers?

June 23, 2009
Posted by Economics9698 @ 6:49 AM

dont-tread-on-meFor years, decades the fascist on the left have used lawyers to intimidate and bully their way to power. Sarah Palin’s $500,000 legal bill defending her and her administration against bogus ethics charges being the latest example. Well it’s time to turn the tables.

When the states succeed from the union they will need to pass state laws that will of course be challenged by the federal government. Here are some laws that will need to be passed by state legislatures. When the laws are challenged and overturned no sweat pass some more laws with different wording and repeat as necessary.

1. Pass a law prohibiting companies from withholding workers taxes. Make the workers write the checks to the federal government. Why just a guess but if citizens realized how much they were taxed they would not be too pleased about it.

2. Pass NRA gun laws. An armed citizenry is a good thing. Look at the killing in Venezuela and Iran by government organizations. Having a few well trained citizens with a few 30-06 would have a very discouraging affect on would be assassins from ACORN and AmeriCorps. Make no mistake about it ACORN and AmeriCorps are the brown shirts of 2009.

3. Pass laws allowing protest in front of all federal building all the time.

4. Pass laws allowing citizens, counties, cities and companies to start contributing to their own private social security accounts. All federal government programs, with the exception of the military, are a rip off. Revolt.

5. Pass a state bank law and print a local currency based on the gold standard. Get the necessary gold reserves to back the currency. The Federal Reserve is blowing up the federal currency and there is a strong possibility the currency will at the very least be devalued to the point of being useless. If states want to avoid the barter system then learn money and banking real quick.

6. Pass laws restricting government service to 12 years for all government employees excluding military. Pretty self explanatory. Get the slugs out into the private sector.

Pass these and other laws. Let the federal lawyers fight them in court. Have the laws overturned. Then pass the same law worded differentially and repeat as necessary. Time to turn the tables on the fascist.

The former USSR died because it did not have any money of value. The same pattern is playing out in Washington. Every bail out dollar spent is another dollar in dept and another fraction of a point in the inflation rate. The “rich” need to starve the federalist and so do the states. Let the fascist drown and die an agonizing death whimpering for more money.

‘We don’t do infomercials’

‘We don’t do infomercials’

That according to Diane Sawyer about the upcoming special which airs on Wednesday is a town hall format in which Barack Obama will answer “tough” questions from the audience as picked by ABC News.

Debate: To engage in argument by discussing opposing points.

Since any viable opposition has been rejected by ABC News the “SPECIAL” does not meet the DEBATE criteria nor the “tough” questions from the audience.

Does any of this have an echo of pre-election debate style con?

Drenched in blood of slavery

June 22, 2009

Unfortunately history in the USA is no longer taught from the perspective of accuracy … it it is taught at all.

Editor’s note: Roger Hedgecock’s show streams live on WND from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Eastern and then again in the following three hours on tape
.

The U.S. Senate voted unanimously last week to adopt a resolution apologizing for slavery.

Sen. Tom Harkin, D-Iowa, lead sponsor of the resolution, said, “You wonder why we didn’t do it 100 years ago. It is important to have a collective response to a collective injustice.”

Only after decades of public education ignoring and distorting U.S. history can such a huge lie be said with a straight face.

Senator, you didn’t do it 100 years ago because 100 years ago you Democrats were enforcing Jim Crow segregation laws, poll taxes
to keep blacks from voting, and riding around in sheets and pointy hats just in case blacks didn’t get the message.

You say “It’s important to have a collective response” because you want to bury the origins, purposes, and historical practices of your own party.

The worst part is, Republicans in the Senate let you get away with it.

Principled Republicans knowing their history would have authored a resolution reciting the facts that the Republican Party was formed, among other reasons, to oppose slavery and that the Republican Party and its first President Abraham Lincoln responded to Southern, Democrat-led secession with a successful war that preserved the union and freed the slaves.

The True Motivation for Socialized Medicine – $859,800 million

June 19, 2009
Posted by clinicalthinker @ 7:09 AM

medical-picturePretty much the same motivation as social security. Create a program that is vital to survival for some people and then rip them off. Social security has always been a cash cow for the Washington politicians. It never mattered that someday it will be broke. Much sooner than they would like. The program will go upside down in 2018. Forget about the IOU’s that will keep social security solvent until 2043. The politicians have no plan or intent on honoring those IOU’s. So all that money will go down the toilet and seniors in the future will have to fend for themselves.

And so it is with socialized medicine. Currently health care is 18% of the GDP. In Canada its 8% but with a much healthier and homogeneous population. Not too many crack babies in Canada. So the idea is to reduce the percent of health care as a percent of the GDP to say 16%, 14% whatever. Then you brag that you “saved” 4% of the GDP in health care expenses for the nation. But while your doing that you ration, cut real wages, destroy private initiatives and so forth till you get the real cost down to 8% of the GDP like Canada has done. The spread between what people will be paying for the rationed crap and what the true cost is will be a HUGE cash cow for the government. 14% charged in taxes minus 8% real cost means a 6% profit for the government or a cool $859,800 million profit! Is it any wonder the politicians are so gun ho on nationalizing our health care?

Of course the politicians will have about 10% of the health care industry private so when Ted Kennedy gets sick he can get the best treatment in the world. So much like Animal Farm where the pigs in control told the other animals “Some animals are more equal than other animals.” The chosen rich and politicians like the old soviet politburo members will not be burdened with the crudities of rationed care and waiting list.

The Gangsta in the WhiteHouse.

June 18, 2009
Posted by clinicalthinker @ 16:21 PM

I watched the clip of Barack Obama sniveling about Fox News and its big megaphone badmouthing him.
“Boo Hoo”.
Is this the first adversity this man has encountered in his life?
This is typical narcissistic behavior “what the world does not love me as much as I love myself? Snivel, whine how can that be?
This man is SO TOTALLY OUT OF TOUCH!

This says it all about the Gangsta in the Whitehouse.
