Well past estimates had Social Security going into a deficit around 2018 and the IOU’s being depleted around 2042. Not that Washington could ever be trusted to honor the IOU’s. Our criminal politicians would have made Social Security a welfare program around 2015 or so before the IOU’s would have started coming due. But with the demographics and economic downturn the program is going bust much sooner than expected. Try this year and 2010.

If the economy recovers, a big if with the communist and socialist in power, surpluses might last from 2011 to 2016 but then the demographics will sink the program once again permanently. Anyone wish they would have supported Bush’s 2004 effort to partially privatize Social Security? It would have been a start in relieving the Social Security system of this unsustainable burden that is going to sink like Michel Moore at the box office.

Social Security has been and always was an unsustainable ponzi scheme. People like my grandmother who paid 1.5% payroll tax and collected 25 or more years of payments love the program. They were at the beginning of the program, paid very little into it and received a lot of benefits. Now as the baby boomers from 1946 to 1964 retire the system will pay them zero or more likely negative returns. Bernie Madoff on a federal level. And in the end just like Bernie the taxpayers will be scrambling to salvage whatever stolen assets they can glean from the federal government.

And the malcontents in congress continue to push health care and other budget busters. Poverty for the masses and a few well off “cool” rich people left to enjoy and control the peasants at their disposal. Time for the peasants to revolt.

Social Security’s Unexpected Deficits Show Urgent Need for Reform

Starting this year, Social Security will spend more in benefits than it will receive from its payroll taxes. This is somewhat unexpected as just last year, the 2009 cash surplus was predicted to be about $80 billion. Even in May of this year, the program’s actuaries predicted a roughly $19 billion surplus. However, they failed to allow for the full effects of the recession, and the soaring unemployment both reduced tax collections and increased the number of workers who were forced to take early retirement.

This is very bad news for taxpayers, but worse is yet to follow. The 2009 deficit of about $10 billion will be followed by a 2010 deficit of about $9 billion. If there is a strong recovery–which is questionable at best–the program could briefly return to surpluses. But by 2016, deficits will return and continue permanently. A far more likely scenario is that Social Security will run deficits from this point on.

And well they should! Three-quarters of Obamacare is to be financed by slashing $500 billion from Medicare over the next ten years. That comes to an eight percent cut. Next year’s total Medicare spending, for example, will be about $500 billion by itself, so this is like having one year without Medicare at all! Obama’s fatuous claim that the cut will not affect care for the elderly is specious as any thinking person would realize. We have gone through previous incarnations of those who wanted to slash Medicare and pretended that it would not affect the elderly. Newt Gingrich tried to sell this act of alchemy in 1995 and the elderly didn’t buy it then and aren’t buying it now!

It is obviously impossible to cut Medicare reimbursement without slashing the time doctors spend with patients. It is equally obvious that you cannot cover 30 million new patients without more doctors and nurses. And the Medicare cuts in doctors’ fees will, of course, cause a decrease in the number of medical professionals. Investor’s Business Daily conducted a poll in September which showed that 45% of all doctors said they would seriously consider retiring or closing their practices if the Obama bill passes. A larger number will likely refuse to treat Medicare patients. Indeed, current law provides for a 21% cut in Medicare fees to doctors next year and a 6% cut the year after. The new $500 billion in cuts are on top of these reductions! What kind of medical care do we expect our elderly to receive when the doctor who they visit is getting $35 or $40 for seeing them!

Basically what really happened is Bush chickened out in a planned attack on Iran.  Better to do it in 2008 after the elections and get it over with.  Similar to the bail outs that have prolonged the recession that should be over by now but continue to plague the American people.  Bush acted like a kid avoiding a flu shot and then coming down with the flu.  Hindsight is 20/20 but some pain now is always better than a lot of pain latter.  And now Obama has inherited the Islamic fascist problem.

So what will happen?  The dogs of Israel and Iran will keep barking and nothing.  The dogs will fight.  If the dogs fight oil will go to $6.00 a gallon and the world will be ready for a fight.  All the minutia will go away.  Obama will be another FDR.  Killing the economy and then facilitating a world war to bail his legacy out.  Millions will die for some affirmative action ego and we will have our civil war postponed once again.

Dick Cheney wanted to take out Iran and their navy and nuclear facilities.  The window of opportunity was last December.  Bush backed down and now the war clouds gather over the Middle East.  Politicians love war.  Revolution of the people is very distasteful.  Guess which direction they will go.

Bush started this crap but did not have the balls to finish it.  Now we have an incompetent in the White House.  May we the people have a revolution here and Israel subdue the Middle East.

All this health care debate is so tiring. We the people know the special interest have both the democrats and republicans in their pocket. The biggest factor in getting the cost down would be to get the government totally out of the health care business and we all know it. But they push on looking to grab the prize. Similar to the 1966 Kansas City Chiefs pushing to get that last American Football League championship one year prior to the merger with the NFL. Interesting but quite irrelevant in the grand scheme of things. So many bigger games and battles to be fought in the coming years ahead.

And so it is with our politicians of today. Social Security will be insolvent in 2018 if not sooner. Does anyone think we will pay 20% to keep it solvent? Does anyone think the government will graciously pay off the file cabinet of IUO’s back to the people? Not a chance. Social security will become a welfare program and all the IOU’s will magically disappear with the stroke of a pen.

Medicaid and Medicare are insolvent in many states and federally. And? The politicians’ want to rip off the programs like Social Security. Collect a few trillion pay a few billion and pocket the change. Cover illegal’s and give grandma and grandpa a pill. These politicians are diabolical.
And then we have our affirmative action Harvard educated lying president. An informal look at his speeches and statements reveals at least a 50% lie rate. Quite high even for a politician. At least Bush told the truth and lied by omission. This pathological liar is so stoned on his ego he can’t help but lie almost constantly. Very few in the press call him out. Watching him lie to George Stephanopoulos about the extremely regressive $3,800 medical care tax was too much to stomach even for me. Hell give me Jimmy Carter, at least he tries to be honest.
We the people in the fly over states know the federal government is doomed.

And what are you going to do about it? Does anyone see a Libertarian take over of the party? Last time I checked it was the same corrupt players as 2006. Graham, McCain, Boehner and what are they going to do different when they get power in 2010? We are $11 trillion in debt. The GDP is $14 trillion. And? There going to magically cut out waste and fraud? Did they do it in 2005? Did they regulate Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac in 2005? No the Republicans will take over in 2010 and the beat will go on. The nation will be insolvent just like the former USSR in 1989.

It’s what business people call an end game. We all know it. The politicians know it. Only some of the people know it. Now you know it. And how does this play out?

The nice business folks in the suburbs want to keep the illusion this is America as long as possible. The government wants to stay in power as long as possible. Why? To rip the people off as much as possible before it all breaks down. And then you are left holding the bag as those with money leave while the next revolution is fought by those that remain.
None of this slips by our military. None of this should slip by state legislatures. And none of this should slip by the public.

What needs to happen? Spending on every entitlement program must be eliminated or cut. No Department of Education. No housing and urban development. Medicaid cut drastically. Everything must go or we perish holding on to nothing. It so reminds me of the story on how to catch a monkey. I have no idea if this is true or not but here it goes. In Africa natives place a banana in a box with a narrow entrance big enough for a monkey to place his hand in. When the monkey grabs the banana he makes a fist. The fist is too big to pass through the opening. The monkey will pull and pull for hours until the hunting party arrives. And then he is killed. And so it is with our politicians and the people. They have themselves trapped financially and they will pull and pull until the Day of Judgment and it all is over. And the sad thing will be right before the Republic dies is all we had to do was let go of the debt and move on with our lives.

If business, politicians and the people with money don’t understand this the Republic is over. As longs as they are fighting over trivial issues like nationalized health care the war is lost. The issue is our unfunded liabilities and the national debt. This country need to turn on a dime. Libertarians taking over the Republican Party is the first step in a long road to recovery. And the chances of that happening are slim to none.
The only thing we the people can do it elect local and state representatives with leadership abilities and a understanding of the original constitution and the role of state government. And be ready to succeed from the union.

Thank heavens for Cash for Clunkers. Obama was right when he said the American public is of the opinion THE GOVERNMENT CAN RUN NOTHING RIGHT!

While President Obama delivers speeches praising the alleged success of Cash for Clunkers, a former rebate processor for the federal program – also working undercover for WND – is calling it “complete chaos.”

After the federal “Cash for Clunkers” program ended Aug. 24, the Department of Transportation reported that nearly 700,000 clunkers were taken off the roads and replaced by more fuel-efficient vehicles. Rebate applications worth $2.877 billion were submitted by the 8 p.m. deadline. The Transportation Department hired federal employees and private contract workers to process the rebates vouchers so car dealers would be compensated.

Former White House aide Kathleen Willey was hired as an employee with Vangent Incorporated, a company that provides information technology management and business process outsourcing services to the public and private sectors. Its clients include federal agencies such as the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, the U.S. Departments of Defense, Education, Health and Human Services, Justice and Labor and the U.S. Office of Personnel Management.

But what her employer did not know was that Willey, the author of the book, “Target: Caught In the Crosshairs of Bill and Hillary Clinton,” was also taking notes on all she observed and experienced for WND.

Apparently George Stephanopoulos was the only reporter with either the guts or intelligence to ask Barack Obama about ACORN during one of his myriad of interviews Sunday Sept. 20th.

Obama answered “Frankly it’s not even something I followed closely. I didn’t even know ACORN was getting a whole lot of federal money”

WOW that’s a little out of touch don’t you think?
I seriously wonder if we are not shortly going to have a POTUS with a yard long nose.

He also asked if forcing those who do not want to purchase government mandated health insurance is actually a tax increase.

Shriek if we look at it actually as a tax according to Webster … Obama thinks that logic is a stretch.

The bottom line is simple. Tax increase, mandated coverage, “being responsible” or FINES that come from REQUIRING EVERYONE to have health care is going to cost huge premiums. The Congressional Budget Office projects that it would force the middle-income uninsured to pay on average more than 15 percent of their income.

According to Dick Morris:

The CBO estimates that when the program is fully implemented — by 2016 — an individual earning $32,400 a year would have to pay $4,100 in premiums before getting any subsidy. With deductibles and co-payments, he’d have to shell out $5,600 a year, or 17.3 percent of his income. A family of four, making $80,000 a year, would have to pay about $10,500 in premiums alone — with deductibles and co-payments, up to $15,000 or just under 20 percent of income.

And if they don’t buy insurance, they’ll face federal fines that begin to approach these same premium levels. They won’t be able to buy what they truly need — catastrophic-only coverage at a lower premium — that won’t satisfy ObamaCare’s “minimum insurance” mandate.

No matter what name they give it … that’s a pretty big chunk out of the middle income family budget.

Instead of robbing from the rich to pay for the poor it looks like now the middle class is included.

Apparently society is just now beginning to wrap their mind around this DISTRIBUTION OF WEALTH thing. What is really means is … only those choosing to live under the 12th street bridge are getting a deal.

In other words whatever middle income has … is now also going to those who either can not or CHOOSE NOT to work.

Congresswoman Michele Bachmann has started a petition to send to Obama to end the funding of ACORN.

U.S. Rep. John Boehner of Ohio, the top Republican in the U.S. House of Representatives, is demanding a straight up-or-down vote on a bill dedicated to removing ACORN from the list of recipients of federal largesse, or says he’ll force the issue.

And a key conservative vote, U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., says unless there is such an action, it will mean the recent votes on that very issue were nothing but “cover.”

Both had enough smarts to do what they wanted to do. Bush won in Iraq. Reagan won the cold war. Like them or hate them they achieved victory and made America a safer place. Obama so far has displayed none of these characteristics.

This weekend Obama will go on all the major networks except Fox to push government health care. Why? He’s a communist at heart and cannot bring himself to acknowledge or dignify the press operation he would like to shut down. It’s that simple. Bill O’Reilly hypostatizes that it is because Obama is immature. Bull crap. Obama is a communist at heart and will go down with the ship before he concedes an inch to freedom and liberty. That’s the truth.

What do I think? White America better frigging wake up and real soon or all those crime free suburbs will be history. All those nice suburban crime free schools will be history. All those kids going to college will be history. Communism doesn’t allow for such bourgeoisie pursuits of happiness. All must be for the state and all else is discarded. Kiss the black man’s and men of colors ass all you white people is the object of this administration. Is this racist or reality? So far it’s Obama’s reality and the white folks are starting to get the message.

I am a native born Californian living in the heart of the San Joaquin Valley and also a RECOVERING ENVIRONMENTAL ACTIVIST. Like most of us who left that movement it was because what originally needed a nudge back to an equilibrium marched to a full blown over the top, over the edge outrageous attack against the good of man. So yes the Environmentalists have turned WHACKO. I got out when a farmer in the southern part of the valley had his farm confiscated because he ACCIDENTALLY ran over an endangered mouse with his tractor. Enough was enough for me.

From this to this!

This has been agricultural land from the moment water was drilled down to or pumped in.
The valley is futile and produces milk, cream, grapes, rice, sugar beets, nursery products, lettuce, cattle, hay, strawberries, tomatoes, cotton, almonds and fruit varieties (to many to name).

This summer there have been 7 attempts made to congress asking the valley pumps be turned back on. EVERY SINGLE TIME Nancy Pelosi had KILLED those attempts. All of this in favor of the delta smelt (above) which may or may not go extinct.

YOU CAN BET if these were her husbands vineyards being turned into fallow grounds those pumps would have been flowing months ago.
Meanwhile as she stands before congress telling lies, stuttering and trying hard to shed a tear OF FAUX FEAR about the shouts of people who are being screwed (without a kiss) by her and her cohorts. One of the bread baskets of the world dries up.

Who is Michael Connelly and what does he say about the Obama Health Care Bill?
A U.S. Army veteran, a retired attorney, a published author of three books, freelance writer, and teacher of law courses via the Internet through colleges and universities worldwide.

Well, I have done it! I have read the entire text of proposed House Bill 3200: The Affordable Health Care Choices Act of 2009. I studied it with particular emphasis from my area of expertise, constitutional law. I was frankly concerned that parts of the proposed law that were being discussed might be unconstitutional. What I found was far worse than what I had heard or expected.

To begin with, much of what has been said about the law and its implications is in fact true, despite what the Democrats and the media are saying. The law does provide for rationing of health care, particularly where senior citizens and other classes of citizens are involved, free health care for illegal immigrants, free abortion services, and probably forced participation in abortions by members of the medical profession.

The Bill will also eventually force private insurance companies out of business and put everyone into a government run system. All decisions about personal health care will ultimately be made by federal bureaucrats and most of them will not be health care professionals. Hospital admissions, payments to physicians, and allocations of necessary medical devices will be strictly controlled.

However, as scary as all of that it, it just scratches the surface. In fact, I have concluded that this legislation really has no intention of providing affordable health care choices. Instead it is a convenient cover for the most massive transfer of power to the Executive Branch of government that has ever occurred, or even been contemplated. If this law or a similar one is adopted, major portions of the Constitution of the United States will effectively have been destroyed.

With Glenn Beck shining a HALOGEN on Van Jones, ACORN and the other un-American Czar ties implemented by Obama … the giant gave a final snore and bolted upright into fighting mode.

Apparently they are having a hard time wrapping their minds around the millions that marched in the USA Sat. had 20, 30, or more supporters each who could not make it in person for various reasons.

It makes me laugh out loud to think no amount of spin, name calling or scare tactics will fly with “the mass” who has locked onto the magnitude of the governmental core corruption we all face.

MINION MEDIA … I just love this term (from WND) for the main stream media of the day.

Anyone with a rational functioning brain caught on long ago what was going on in the Media (even before Bernie Goldberg came out with his “SLOBBERING LOVE AFFAIR” book) .

These news organizations should have been relabeled long ago as LAZY TALKING AIR-HEADS.
The real news media might have drifted away with the retirement of Edward R. Murrow.

From my perspective of “lets call a spade a spade” without frills attached … there is only one guy left on the scene that remains totally center of the road.

That is BILL O’REILLY … my concept of him is simple … he is an equal opportunity BASHER!

Like HIM and what he says or not … at least you get the straight scoop.

Don’t you think it takes a lot of self discipline to argue for a side you know is flat outright outrageous and pull off a center approach?

I know its an ugly job but someone has to do it!

I give him credit because under all of that “center line reporting” there is clearly a cognitive thinking mind at work.

I actually spend a lot of time reading the stuff swirling on the net daily.
Not so much for material on this blog but just to see what is going on and why.
EXACTLY what makes someone tick.

I am actually AMAZED at what I run into.

For instance:
A majority of the opposition who HATE O’Reilly dismiss him with an adamant “HE LIES”.

Funny … I have come up with a whole new cipher for decoding what people actually mean. I do have to take into consideration who is saying what to/about whom in applying this method of unraveling what is actually being said however.

So in this case … HE LIES … means: … “I do not listen but I HEAR that he does not agree with my side so HE LIES.” WOW! that is true rational logical conclusion for the truly ignorant … don’t you think?

I remain awestruck at the “usually intelligent” individuals that are polarized into this opinion of the O’Reilly program.
I watch the guy almost every night.
I do not agree with all that I see but I KNOW it is at LEAST on the square.

Somewhere in my education of LONG AGO I was taught to think for myself. I know it is a novel and interesting concept today … especially for a large majority of the young.

Apparently that is a concept long squashed and replaced with the new “POLLY PARROT MODE”.

In my opinion Bill O’Reilly news is the way TRUE NEWS NEEDS TO BE PRESENTED.

This I don’t like what he says = therefore he lies (without actually checking out the facts themselves) puts them in a “new ignorant class of Lemmings” that we all need to consider then IGNORE.

Personally I have adopted an brand new mindset for these individuals.
That is … GO AWAY!
WHY?
Because to argue with flat out ignorance is a waste of everyone’s time (personally I really have little I choose to waste).
Someone who has checked out the facts and wants to argue/debate THOSE FACTS is totally another issue.
We can agree to disagree.

In the end IGNORANCE IS A WASTE that can be changed at will … so those who choose not deserve no time or respect.

So its time to grab the bull by the horns … call a spade a spade and start separating the wheat from the chaff.
Then understanding that what we use to call news is simply outright propaganda or worthless commentary.

Foisted onto the public by someone:

1. Not as well informed as the average Joe on the street.
2. Clue less about what the public wants or thinks.
3. Is promoting the agenda of others for self gain.
4. In hopes “we the people” are to stupid to figure it all out.
5. Who is truly a flat out liar!

So each of us are left to take a cold hard look at the facts.
Get in touch with your own personal right and wrong.
Be ready to stand beside those of like mind and team up against those who wish to snatch your freedom from under your nose.
While you are busy in the salt mine trying to provide food and shelter for those you love.

I have been sitting quietly on the sidelines watching all of this national debate on healthcare. It is time for me to bring some clarity to the table by explaining many of the problems from the perspective of a doctor.

First off, the government has involved very few of us physicians in the healthcare debate. While the American Medical Association has come out in favor of the plan, it is vital to remember that the AMA only represents 17% of the American physician workforce.

I have taken care of Medicaid patients for 35 years while representing the only pediatric ophthalmology group left in Atlanta, Georgia that accepts Medicaid. For example, in the past 6 months I have cared for three young children on Medicaid who had corneal ulcers. This is a potentially blinding situation because if the cornea perforates from the infection, almost surely blindness will occur. In all three cases the antibiotic needed for the eradication of the infection was not on the approved Medicaid list.

Each time I was told to fax Medicaid for the approval forms, which I did. Within 48 hours the form came back to me which was sent in immediately via fax, and I was told that I would have my answer in 10 days. Of course by then each child would have been blind in the eye.

Each time the request came back denied. All three times I personally provided the antibiotic for each patient which was not on the Medicaid approved list. Get the point — rationing of care.

Over the past 35 years I have cared for over 1000 children born with congenital cataracts. In older children and in adults the vision is rehabilitated with an intraocular lens. In newborns we use contact lenses which are very expensive. It takes Medicaid over one year to approve a contact lens post cataract surgery. By that time a successful anatomical operation is wasted as the child will be close to blind from a lack of focusing for so long a period of time.

Again, extreme rationing. Solution: I have a foundation here in Atlanta supported 100% by private funds which supplies all of these contact lenses for my Medicaid and illegal immigrants children for free. Again, waiting for the government would be disastrous.

Last week I had a lady bring her child to me. They are Americans but live in Sweden, as the father has a job with a big corporation. The child had the onset of double vision 3 months ago and has been unable to function normally because of this. They are people of means but are waiting 8 months to see the ophthalmologist in Sweden. Then if the child needed surgery they would be put on a 6 month waiting list. She called me and I saw her that day. It turned out that the child had accommodative esotropia (crossing of the eyes treated with glasses that correct for farsightedness) and responded to glasses within 4 days, so no surgery was needed. Again, rationing of care.

Last month I operated on a 70 year old lady with double vision present for 3 years. She responded quite nicely to her surgery and now is symptom free. I also operated on a 69 year old judge with vertical double vision. His surgery went very well and now he is happy as a lark. I have been told — but of course there is no healthcare bill that has been passed yet — that these 2 people because of their age would have been denied surgery and just told to wear a patch over one eye to alleviate the symptoms of double vision. Obviously cheaper than surgery.

I spent two year in the US Navy during the Viet Nam war and was well treated by the military. There was tremendous rationing of care and we were told specifically what things the military personnel and their dependents could have and which things they could not have. While I was in Viet Nam, my wife Nancy got sick and got essentially no care at the Naval Hospital in Oakland, California. She went home and went to her family’s private internist in Beverly Hills. While it was expensive, she received an immediate work up. Again rationing of care.

For those of you who are over 65, this bill in its present form might be lethal for you. People in Britain face rationing of care in that there is an eight month wait for cataract surgery, 11 for hernia and the same for disc and total hip The government wants to mimic the British plan. For those of you younger, it will still mean restriction of the care that you and your children receive.

While 99% of physicians went into medicine because of the love of medicine and the challenge of helping our fellow man, economics are still important. My rent goes up 2% each year and the salaries of my employees go up 2% each year. Twenty years ago, ophthalmologists were paid $1800 for a cataract surgery and today $500. This is a 73% decrease in our fees. I do not know of many jobs in America that have seen this sort of lowering of fees.

But there is more to the story than just the lower fees. When I came to Atlanta, there was a well known ophthalmologist that charged $2500 for a cataract surgery as he felt the was the best. He had a terrific reputation and in fact I had my mother’s bilateral cataracts operated on by him with a wonderful result. She is now 94 and has 20/20 vision in both eyes. People would pay his $2500 fee.

However, then the government came in and said that any doctor that does Medicare work cannot accept more than the going rate ( now $500) or he or she would be severely fined. This put an end to his charging $2500. The government said it was illegal to accept more than the government-allowed rate. What I am driving at is that those of you well off will not be able to go to the head of the line under this new healthcare plan, just because you have money, as no physician will be willing to go against the law to treat you.

I am a pediatric ophthalmologist and trained for 10 years post-college to become a pediatric ophthalmologist (add two years of my service in the Navy and that comes to 12 years).A neurosurgeon spends 14 years post -college, and if he or she has to do the military that would be 16 years. I am not entitled to make what a neurosurgeon makes, but the new plan calls for all physicians to make the same amount of payment. I assure you that medical students will not go into neurosurgery and we will have a tremendous shortage of neurosurgeons. Already, the top neurosurgeon at my hospital who is in good health and only 52 years old has just quit because he can’t stand working with the government anymore. Forty-nine percent of children under the age of 16 in the state of Georgia are on Medicaid, so he felt he just could not stand working with the bureaucracy anymore.

We are being lied to about the uninsured. They are getting care. I operate at least 2 illegal immigrants each month who pay me nothing, and the children’s hospital at which I operate charges them nothing also.This is true not only on Atlanta, but of every community in America.

The bottom line is that I urge all of you to contact your congresswomen and congressmen and senators to defeat this bill. I promise you that you will not like rationing of your own health.

Furthermore, how can you trust a physician that works under these conditions knowing that he is controlled by the state. I certainly could not trust any doctor that would work under these draconian conditions.

One last thing: with this new healthcare plan there will be a tremendous shortage of physicians. It has been estimated that approximately 5% of the current physician work force will quit under this new system. Also it is estimated that another 5% shortage will occur because of the decreased number of men and women wanting to go into medicine. At the present time the US government has mandated gender equity in admissions to medical schools .That means that for the past 15 years that somewhere between 49 and 51% of each entering class are females. This is true of private schools also, because all private schools receive federal funding.

The average career of a woman in medicine now is only 8-10 years and the average work week for a female in medicine is only 3-4 days. I have now trained 35 fellows in pediatric ophthalmology. Hands down the best was a female that I trained 4 years ago — she was head and heels above all others I have trained. She now practices only 3 days a week.

As any good Persian rug dealer knows, you have to hold back a bargaining chit so that you can whip it out at the very end to tie down the sale. That’s how Obama is playing the so-called public option in his health care program. His plan seems to be to combine its abandonment with some form of tort reform and try to buy off some Republicans – maybe only Maine’s Olympia Snowe – to give moderate Democrats enough confidence in the veneer of bi-partisanship to win their backing for his bill.

But it’s a fraud and a trick.

Here’s why:

(a) Whether or not there is a public option makes no difference in the fundamental objection most elderly have to the bill – that it guts Medicare and Medicaid. All of the bills now under consideration cut these two programs by one half of a trillion dollars. And all of them require the medical community to serve thirty to fifty million new patients without any concomitant growth in the number of doctors or nurses. These cuts and shortages will lead to draconian rationing of medical care for the elderly, whether under a public option or not.

(b) The most likely proposal is to replace the public option with some form of buyer’s co-op. But since there is no currently existing co-op to serve as a vehicle for health insurance, it would have to be formed. By who? The government, of course. That would mean, as a practical matter, that the “co-op option” would be a government run plan for several years. In fact, they may not get around to setting up a co-op at all.

(c) The other alternative, mentioned by Senator Snowe herself, would be for a “trigger” mechanism. This provision would require the creation of a public alternative to private insurance plans if, after a specified period of time, they did not lower rates to a pre-determined level. Given the escalation of health care costs, it is almost inevitable that this provision would lead to a government plan. And, anyway, who says that the government insurance option would be more successful in reducing costs?

But Obama has to at least appear to be willing to compromise, so he has invented the idea of re-packaging the public option in order to seem to be flexible.

The key, here, is not to be distracted by the debate over the public option. It matters very much to private insurance companies whether the government becomes their competitor, but, for the elderly (and the near-elderly), the key concern is not the public option by the rationing and cuts projected under the program.

In the Clinton Administration, we worked hard to kill the proposed Medicare cuts and are no less committed to stopping them in the Obama presidency. That they were once proposed by the right and are now being pushed by the left makes no difference. A cut is a cut is a cut. And Medicare should not be cut.

This is no surprise.
The powers that be in Washington have a mode of operation.

JERUSALEM – President Obama’s newly confirmed regulatory czar, Cass Sunstein, drew up a “First Amendment New Deal,” a new “Fairness Doctrine” that would include the establishment of a panel of “nonpartisan experts” to ensure “diversity of view” on the airwaves, WND has learned.

Sunstein compared the need for the government to regulate broadcasting to the moral obligation of the U.S. to impose new rules that outlawed segregation.

Until now, Sunstein’s radical proposal, set forth in his 1993 book “The Partial Constitution,” received no news media attention and scant scrutiny.

In the book – obtained and reviewed by WND – Sunstein outwardly favors and promotes the “fairness doctrine,” the abolished FCC policy that required holders of broadcast licenses to present controversial issues of public importance in a manner the government deemed was “equitable and balanced.”

The Tea Party protesters were out in full force in Washington Saturday. Estimates range from 100,000 to 150,000. What ever the number there were people from the capitol to the Washington monument. It was quite a success. The crowd was friendly and the police business like. It was a fantastic experience for all of the attendees as reported.

A few observations.

The speakers were too many. The speakers went on from 10:00 AM to almost 4:00 PM with no water vendors and isolated bathroom facilities.
We were very fortunate to have an overcast day with no or very light rain. The weather was the best part of the day besides the crowd.

The speaker system was inadequate for the unfortunate ones who did not get there into the main gated area. Not that anyone tore up the event with a fiery speech but more speakers all the way to the back of the reflecting pond would have been a decent thing to provide for all the protesters of the event.

The political correctness crap has infected the Tea Party organizers and this event. Honestly why in the hell was rap played? Did anyone look at the crowd? 40+ white males and females with a few young ones and minorities mixed in here and there. When the rappers started performing everyone just kind of looked at each other in disbelief. And then there was a procession of black speakers saying, and rightly so, democrats were the racist for bringing up the race card to dismiss Tea Party protesters. Say it once and get over it. We know democrats are racist. No need to drill it in our head.

The best performer hands down no one else close was Lloyd Marcus. I have know idea who this guy is but I have seen him three times now and he really hits the right tone, rhythm and style for these events to a T. I don’t know if it’s his personal style or he is just gifted in giving his audience what he wants but he just nails it at these events. When he did “Start Spreading the News” an old Frank Sinatra tune, and mixing Tea Party lyrics into the tune the crowd just LOVED IT! Absolutely nailed it to the wall. The only bad part of the performance was he didn’t sing more songs. As far as I am concerned this guy will always be the face of the Tea Party performers.

The main gated area where the stage was located was closed off before the area filled up. Was there an ulterior motive? Maybe to get some camera shots of the area on C-Span with empty areas? It was ridiculous having a huge crowd crushed against a wall a few feet from the main stage area with lots of empty space. Eventually some protesters climbed the wall when the cops were not looking and the area filled up closer to capacity. More cops were called in and the area was finally sealed with some capacity left. Fair is fair and the area should have been filled to capacity on a first come basis.

The fire truck incident. In the middle of the protest with the crowd pushed against the retaining wall next to the main stage area a full sized fire truck decides to run through the middle of the crowd. I kid you not. I have no idea of the emergency but running a huge fire engine through a packed street of pedestrians seems both dangerous to the pedestrians and just plain wrong. Do these firefighters know what a golf cart and stretche r is? Was the emergency so great the only way to the scene was through the crowd next to the main stage? Seemed like a total disregard for the event and the safety of the protesters. I can just imagine the legal liability if some child was crushed by that monstrous vehicle as it was pushing it’s way through the packed street. You just have to wonder what the hell were these people thinking. It was outrageous!

I was glad Senator Mitch McConnell and Representative Mike Pence were there. Two really decent human beings who have in the past have tried to do what is best for America. Their speaking styles will never be associated with fiery but both these men are Americas finest and we need more men and women like these two. As a Libertarian I disagree with both these guys on some issues but I absolutely respect their virtue and integrity. God bless them both and thanks for being there.

No democrats present that I know of on the main stage. This was truly disappointing because there are many if not the majority of democrats who disagree with high taxation and inflationary borrowing. C all them blue dogs or whatever I know there are decent and virtuous democrats who are truly worried about our country who did not present themselves on the Tea Party stage. Very disappointing and quite disturbing since the Tea Party is not affiliated with either party.

Finally I would like to thank the two fellow Tea Party folks I rode up with and putting up with my bloviating. Not the easiest thing to do. It was a wonderful experience and I pray:

Instead of watching the Fox coverage today I decided to watch C-Span. The whole program was inspiring. I can only imagine what the faux news will have to say about the gatherings across the nation.

The New York Times entered by saying 500 people were on the national mall.
How embarrassing for the NY Times … apparently they forgot their calculators and failed to count in pre school.
I am not sure how you make 500 people look like 1.5 million and fill the area between the Lincoln Memorial and Capitol Building which is a mile.

Who is Jehmu Green was my first thought?

Jehmu Greene is former President of Rock the Vote, a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization dedicated to empowering young people to participate in the political process.

I happened to see Ms. Greene comment on the 9/12 gathering in Washington DC this evening.
With the onset of her first comment I was again reminded about HOW TOTALLY CLUE LESS some of these people who gain front and center stage actually are. Anyone watching what went on across our nation today and makes the comments below verges on I am not sure exactly what but seriously out of touch and feeble minded does come to mind.

Look back in history to those who actually were true world movers and shakers (be they bad or good) … the true leaders DID NOT NEED A TELEPROMPTER … they spoke from a “true innate passion”.

Caroline Kennedy and Barack Obama have the same disability … it’s … ummm … ahh … stutter, stutter … while it takes several seconds to come up with the next few words in a paragraph or sentance. Obama has one edge … rehearsal and a teleprompter (most of the time) so he does not forget what comes next.

You CAN NOT … pass on or teach something if it is not part of your makeup. It’s time ! we have to FACE IT … BARACK OBAMA IS NO LEADER.
He is not doing a good job now nor will he in the future.
