So it should be a man who can stand up to Grayso?n. I think you are wrong there. I stood up to him in DC and came out the winner! He is all hot air and just thinks he knows everything. Chrisma and good looks are not good qualities and Grayson said he had majored in economics too but he in fact failed it.

Todd Long is also a trial lawyer and a large part of what is wrong in Washington (writing bills) and the medical (insurance) problems and large law suit awards. I am a Air force veteran and Todd is a Army veteran.I know about Todd's alcohol problems and know he has made his peace with Christ. I respect his ability to overcome his demons and get on with his life. I would never cast dispersions on his character. We all have our demons.I will tell you what I like about Long. He is a fighter. I would go to war with him. You can see it in his eyes he is a fighter (somewhat like myself) and will not back down when put in a tough situation. I suspect he likes to fight as do I.Fanelli is a fighter pilot and I really respect that but I want someone on the ground in congress that can fight a trench war. Nothing personal.Another thing I like about Todd is he wrote a book about his positions. I don't agree with them all but any politician with the balls to do that gets my instant attention and respect. And the intangible is Todd has charisma and a certain aggressiveness that appeals to men. To be frank Todd will confront Grayson in a debate and not come off looking like a intellectual. I don't want the dork Grayson debating another dork. I want a man debating a fool. That's why I think Todd has the best chance to win against Grayson. And if I recall correctly Long has a bachelors in economics.

I respect Fanelli as a veteran and pilot. isPermaLink="false">http://usa-wethepeople.com/?p=2887#comment-924

I think I speak for most of the country right now. Our main concern is MONEY. We did a stimulus of almost one trillion that we can not account for, where did it go? We, just did another stimulus for small businesses for 33 million, and yet, our unemployment is growing and growing. In Economics this means trouble, someone needs to account for all this stimulus money. Where are the retirement plans, where is Medicare, it's all broke. The US post office, Amtrak, all broke too. This type of political intrusion and no fiscal responsibility needs to stop. I would think if we put a good Economist on the Hill, that Econ would be able to steer the Hill in the right direction.Attorneys have the most lobbyists of all the groups on the Hill, hence, the most money coming in from lobbyists.
Todd has had a problem with alcohol for many years, a dui, disorderly conduct/drunk, etc. and I believe he has been clean for two years. However, with alcoholics they tend to break under pressure and go back to the bottle. What happens when something happens on the Hill that is bad, will he go back to the bottle?I agree that he should start out with something local or state and see how he does with the stresses of that for 4-6 years. If he can successfully get throught that, then yes, maybe it's time to go to DC?I would rather put Fanelli, a Tea Partier, Economist, flight Captain and was flying in DC during the 9-11 terrorist attacks. Obviously he has the ability to make decisions in a split second and got his crew and passengers to the ground without any incidences. Put him to work as an Economist to work out the financial burdens that are looming over all of us. November would not be soon enough. Think, why is there not TORT REFORM in the health care bill. The attorney lobbyists have paid the attorneys on the Hill to keep it out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Grayson is an idiot and spending our money like there's no tomorrow, this needs to stop and we need to stop him.

I think I speak for most of the country right now. I know about his DUI but in my opinion he seems sober but I really have no idea. We all make mistakes and I would not hold it against him.According to his book he is vehemently opposed to most forms of federal spending. Certainly he would be a deficit hawk. He seems very strict in federal spending programs he would support. Of course that is what is needed. As for his donations the attorney part seems logical since he is a attorney. The important question is WHICH attorneys. As for the doctors that would be a good sign that he is helping them legally which I know he does in his practice.FYI I really didn't pay attention to Todd in 2008. Like a dumb ass I though Keller would hold onto his seat. I kept running into Todd at TEA Parties and events.

Let me know when Patricia is having a public gathering and I will try to be there.

I am not Todd’s friend just interested in him as a public figure. No one said you couldn't like Todd Long and if he is your friend that is great, but have you ever listened to Patricia. Todd thinks because he has the radio show that it puts him more in turn with the people. If Todd is your friend you might want to sit down and talk with him. The young man has a problem with alcohol and has for the last 10 years according to all reports. If he has stopped drinking that is great but with the stress of an election he should be "off the sauce" for at least 3 years before tackeling something like this. Start at the local level and ease into it. We have enough problem children in congress right now and we certainly DO NOT need any more lawyers to write bills that know one can understand because of the legal mumbo jumbo or rich individuals who think spending is great and put no price on "other people's" money. By the way, it is not very impressive that almost all of his donations for the 2008 race came from attorrneys and the medical field. Not very many average citizens and that is where he should be looking for his support.

Economist,

I agree that Grayson is a loser, but there are other candidates out there. He is a capable public speaker, relatively youthful. and seems to have a stable family environment. I wish Sullivan and Fanelli the best of luck but to be honest I think Todd will win it. It's not so much the money but the work ethic I have observed that makes me favor Todd.Grayson is a loser no matter who he runs against unless ACORN and the unions rig the election.
