Anyone But Obama? Be Careful What You Ask For

I find it fascinating that the Republican establishment, including the talking head brigade, is pushing Mitt Romney and Rick Perry as our only hope of defeating Barak Obama in 2012. No one else has a chance according to people of the party machinery, including Bill Kristol, and the other talking heads who are supposedly on our side. Wasn’t it Kristol who called the TEA Party radical and out of touch, not part of the Republican mainstream? John McCain, Rick Perry and Mitt Romney, today’s “mainstream Republicans”, are what used to be the Democrat Party. Twenty or thirty years ago these men would have been main stream Democrats (and Perry was), but now they are seen as conservative Republicans? I don’t think so. That shows me how far left the Republican Party has moved. Romneycare was the basis for Obamacare, with Romney’s key aids helping put Obamacare together for Barak Obama. Rick Perry is in favor of amnesty and the “North American Corridor”. Conservative positions? Not to me.

Let me take you back to the last presidential election cycle. We were told that John McCain was the only hope for Republicans because he was a “moderate” who could draw in all of the independents, women, gays, and other “independent” focus groups. If we didn’t nominate McCain we were doomed. Dutiful Republican voters, with a nice dose of Democrats in open primary states, nominated McCain as the Republican candidate to save our nation. John McCain then ran a campaign I saw as designed to lose to Obama. He picked Sarah Palin as his running mate, an unknown entity from Alaska who no one had ever heard of. After the election he and his minions promptly blamed her for the loss.

Now let’s look at the facts behind my opinion. Sarah Palin was an unknown but successful political woman who had shown an ability to govern while still raising a family. She is a beautiful woman with a nice figure. I am not sure why but this seemed to alienate many women, especially the liberal and moderate ones, not attract them. Hillary Clinton, who looks like a walrus on her good days, is beloved by all of the women’s organizations yet Palin is hated. Why? Palin certainly isn’t as stupid as she is portrayed as being. Attractive, articulate, outspoken, and intelligent are not features that seem to be appreciated for their value, at least not in a female political candidate. Now top all that off with a conservative view of politics and you have another person “off the reservation” of political stereotyping by the left. If you don’t believe me, take a look at, and listen to, the women of the Democrat party.

Sarah Palin is very outspoken, with conservative main stream American views. She is articulate and has sensible ideas on how to restore America to strategic and financial sovereignty. She believes in smaller government, energy independence, lower taxes, personal responsibility, and she hunts grizzly bears with a bow. Palin is not afraid to speak up. Sarah Palin resonates with We the People because of “drill- drill- drill” for one thing. She embodies the American spirit of accomplishment, a common housewife and mother who has become wealthy and influential through her own work, and an interest in the well-being of her community. These are the very qualities that made her appealing to We the People in general.

In the 2008 campaign Palin was muzzled by the handlers McCain gave her and when everything fell through she was made out to be the patsy, the reason Obama won the election. I believe Palin is hated by party insiders because she resonates with We the People and is interested in governing our nation by the Constitution not ruling by fiat as the party machinery of both parties likes to do. Sarah Palin had a message of conservative policies that would have won the election and the Republican camp knew it so they stifled her.

I firmly believe that the plan was not to win, but to further the goals of the globalist New World Order faction running this country. Party insiders needed a scapegoat to blame when they threw the election. They wanted to be able to say that conservatism lost the election when the truth is that “moderatism” lost the election. I actually voted for Sarah Palin with the hopes that the ticket would win and McCain would keel over from a heart attack the day after he was sworn in and leave Palin as President.

Now we are in the midst of another election cycle and we are being fed the same left over talking points from 2008. And what are we hearing from the talking heads and party insiders? “We need a moderate to run so we can win”, “only an all-inclusive moderate can defeat Obama”, “the TEA Party is radical, racist, and a danger to America”, “anyone but Obama” is the mantra we hear from those who would have us believe they are on the side of patriotic Americans.
The problem here is that I read so much on the online social network sites I belong to, and hear so much in the media, that shows me this tale of defeat is being accepted as fact by those I thought had learned the lesson of 2008. We are being herded, just like in the 2008 cycle, into a fear based decision that will take us down the road to tyranny, just not as quickly as with Obama.

The Republican establishment is not the friend of We the People. They are globalist New World Order operatives hiding in plain sight. They are trying to stampede us into being so fearful of Obama and his Marxist ways that our ballot decisions will be made from an “anyone but Obama” outlook. This attitude will give us either Barak Obama or his lighter skinned twin in 2012, just like 2008. This tactic, if successful, will give us another candidate who will not run to win but will run to further the goals of the globalists they represent.

I am looking forward to the day when the TEA Party is a candidate party and I will actually have someone to represent my views of freedom, liberty, and a government once again based on The Constitution of the United States of America. When that happens, those like myself who are registered as Republicans will gravitate to the TEA Party. Those who believe in “moderatism” will gravitate to the Democrat Party and the Republican Party will cease to exist.
I see today’s Republican Party as akin to the “Tories” in Revolutionary War days. The Tories were those who wanted to remain under the thumb of the British rather than fight for the freedom to choose their life styles. They wanted the Colonies to go back to the system their forefathers had fled in Europe rather than take a chance on freedom. They were so afraid of the unknown that they wanted to keep the tyranny they had rather than take a chance on a freedom that left questions to be answered.

Today I see many normally conservative people having those same fears and deciding to settle for an evil not quite as bad as what we have rather than take a chance on true freedom. I see the Republican Party insiders aligned with those who see the United Nations and a one world government as the way to solve the issues facing America today, and all too many people who are willing to accept a watered down freedom rather than fight for true freedom.

I hear the “anyone but Obama” chant from those on conservative sites and cringe. Adolf Hitler came to power in a peaceful election on the basis of “anyone but the Kaiser”. Hugo Chavez, the dictator of Venezuela and admirer of Hitler, came to power in a peaceful election based on “anything but the status quo”. The people of 1930’s Germany and the people of today’s Venezuela discovered what we will soon discover if we don’t make better decisions, if we choose to settle for a “moderate”. Hitler and Chavez were “moderates” when they started and just look at the results.

The candidates being pushed by the Republican establishment know all about the Obama birth certificate issue yet say nothing. These candidates know the main stream media and those tasked with determining candidate eligibility did not do their jobs in determining Obama’s qualifications according to the Constitution. The only candidate pursuing Obama on this issue is John Albert Dummett. How much have you heard about him in the “conservative” media? How much have you heard about John Dummett from a Republican Party machine so intent on defeating the Marxist in Chief? I would think that the steps being taken by John and his staff would have the Republican leadership watering at the mouth in anticipation of the nullification of Obama and the disarray that would cause in the Democrat Party.

I have no desire to remain under the thumb of any government, especially ours. I want to be free to make my own decisions, to own or not own guns, to make my own way in life, to eat the foods I want to eat, to ride a motorcycle with or without a helmet if I so desire. I want my government protecting our shores from attack, not protecting me from myself. I want my government controlling who comes and goes across our borders, not controlling how I worship God, what I eat, or how I spend my money. I want my government to get out of the way of business so I can prosper, not control the economy and decide who prospers.

If we settle for mediocrity, as we did in 2008, we will find the same result we found then. If we settle for someone who accepts abortion, “gay rights”, amnesty for illegal aliens, or big government control of every aspect of our lives we will find the soft tyranny continuing to grow stronger as time goes on. It may not grow as fast as under Obama but it will grow. If I am in a runaway vehicle headed toward a cliff it doesn’t matter if that vehicle is going 60 mph or 80 mph, I want the vehicle stopped and turned around, right now not a few years from now. Remember, it was a “compassionate conservative” who gave us the unconstitutional Patriot Act, and Republicans who overwhelmingly supported the extension of same earlier this year.

If we are willing to elect Romney or Perry, and keep Boehner and McConnell in Congress, what have we gained? Have you seen any real progress towards freedom and financial responsibility in Congress or have you seen accounting tricks and posturing? Have you seen anyone willing to get tough on policy or have you seen Republicans compromising with themselves in order to please the Democrats and get their support on legislation while ignoring 67% of We the People? Have you seen Boehner playing golf with Obama, smiling and saying “we can work together”?

What will you do? Are you willing to accept the soft tyranny of liberal Republicans or will you stand up for freedom and nominate someone who will stand on the Constitution? I will not support, nor will I vote for, soft tyranny regardless of how it is packaged.

In the spirit of transparency I want you to know I am not a couch quarterback. I have become involved to try to return the Republican Party to We the People. I am a member of the Rogers County Oklahoma Republican Party and serve as a state committeeman. I am actively trying to make real substantive changes in the party so the need for the TEA Party to become a candidate party disappears. I will do as much as I can but there needs to be a willingness on the part of the party hierarchy to represent me and those who agree with me. So far I haven’t seen much from the national level to give me any confidence in their acceptance of We the People as the true arbiters of power in government.

Also required to accomplish the task is other like minded people willing to spend some of their time and energy changing their little part of paradise back to what it was designed to be. Everyone who agrees with my position should be willing to do their part to make the changes necessary to restore our nation to what the founding fathers designed when they wrote the Constitution with the help of “Divine Providence”. Get involved in your local party organization and help me take our nation back from those who are taking us down the road to tyranny.

Anyone but Obama is not the answer, CONSERVATISM is the answer. Going along to get along with Democrats will not bring us freedom or liberty. True conservative policies will.

God Bless You God Bless Israel God Bless America
I submit this in the name of the Most Holy Trinity, in faith, with the responsibility given to me by Almighty God to honor His work and not let it die from neglect.

John Dummett: The “Hidalgo” of 2012

A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to watch the movie “Hidalgo” on television for the 3rd or 4th time. The movie is set in Saudi Arabia sometime in the early 1900’s, not sure exactly when but in that neighborhood. The story is about a horse race pitting a man and his horse against others in one of the most inhospitable deserts in the world. The event is a race, man and beast, across 1000 miles of Saudi Arabian desert. Hundreds of entries start but very few finish. Failure usually resulted in death due to the harsh environment and the fact that there are not many places to seek help in that environment.

Horses from everywhere are entered in this race. Fine Arabian stallions and the finest horse breeds from around the world are entered. Into this fine array of properly bred and trained horse flesh steps an American cowboy (Vigo Mortensen) and his horse Hidalgo. Now Hidalgo isn’t your everyday upper crust horse. He has no papers, no fancy breeding, and no fancy stable sponsoring him. He is a wild mustang captured on the American prairie by Mortensen and trained as a cowboy’s horse. Naturally they are quite the spectacle amongst all of the royalty from around the world. Here is this nondescript American cowboy with his nondescript wild horse thinking they can compete with these well-bred and well-cared for steeds. They are made fun of, derided, and criticized by just about everyone there.

One thing these royal snobs seemed to miss in their air of superiority was the spirit of American exceptionalism, the can-do attitude that comes with being an American. Hidalgo and Mortensen win the race, without cheating, without cutting corners, without compromising the values and spirit that make them what they are. Fair play, honor, and decency comes first, winning comes with that fair play, honor, and decency.

Move forward a century now, to the 2012 Presidential race. In the Republican primary race we have the “usual suspects”, well-bred, well funded, smooth talking royalty who see this election as their time. They have “paid their dues”, they have come up through the ranks of the Republican Party, they have played the game according to the party machine script, and now it is their turn to run the nation.

Into this group of royalty steps one John Albert Dummett, a common working class man with no “papers”, no “breeding”, and no “high priced fancy stable” to sponsor him. John Dummett is as common as a man can be. He and his wife Karmi have been married for 34 years and have raised 5 sons and 1 daughter. Early in their marriage John was working as a cab driver while his wife had a very good job in a supermarket. They sat down together and decided that the best way for them to prosper was for John to quit driving the taxi and get a college degree. So while Karmi worked John studied. He went to Southwestern Community College in Chula Vista, California and earned a full scholarship to San Diego State University where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. John was offered a Rhodes scholarship to Oxford University in England but felt that leaving for such an extended time would not be in the best interests of his family. His first responsibility was to his wife and children so he declined.

Among the scholastic awards John earned in college were the “Who’s Who in American Colleges and Universities”, “The National Collegiate Social Science Award”, “Scholastic All America” and the “Golden Key National Honor Society Award”. This was all made possible because John’s wife was willing to sacrifice, to do what was necessary to benefit the family, and he was willing to study hard to be the best he could be.

Having 6 children required a presence in the community as the kids were involved in activities. And when kids are involved they need parent volunteers to coach, to lead, and to help with the activities. John spent many a day between 1972 and 2008 coaching, teaching, managing, and supervising thousands of kids who might not have had those opportunities if not for the volunteer time this man was willing to offer. As a Weebelo Scout Master, part of the Boy Scout Program, John would take his charges on field trips. With degrees in Anthropology and History, minors in Geology, Geography, and Biology, John was able to instill many values, and a knowledge of our nation, and our planet, that most would not be able to impart to these kids. He taught these boys to understand and appreciate our nation and our world in a unique way.

John has worked at many jobs in his life. He is now a Staff Programmer Analyst with the California Department of Fish and Game. In his current position John builds corporate database applications to help insure that the natural resources of the State of California, and by extension the United States, are not stolen or wasted. He didn’t start here, however. He has worked as a cab driver, a turnpike toll collector, a bus boy, and has worked at a Jack in the Box restaurant, and at a marina in Coronado California. He has run the gamut from being the lowest employee, with no responsibility other than to get himself to work on time, to now being responsible for thousands of people and millions of dollars.

John is a conservative family man who believes in Judeo Christian principles, the Constitution, Divine Providence, and God’s place in the formation of our great nation. John has felt a calling on his life that is bigger than himself. He has seen both political parties pay lip service to God, We the People, and the Constitution, while ignoring the premise and meaning of all of these factors. John has seen, as I have, the result of taking God out of our society. He sees the deterioration of our values, our beliefs, our standard of living, and our society in general. He believes the 1st Amendment grants freedom “of” religion, not freedom “from” religion.

John does not have the wealth and prestige of the other candidates but is that a negative? Not to me it isn’t. To me this fact is actually very much on the plus side. John owes his position to no one and when elected to the office of President of the United States, his only loyalty will be to We the People of this great nation. John is one of ”We the People”, not some wealthy party insider with loyalties too numerous to count, with We the People missing from that list.

John has also taken on the one subject no other candidate will touch, the question of Barak Obama’s eligibility. John has been granted “in dicta” standing by the Ninth Circuit Court, one of the most liberal in the nation, to file a lawsuit challenging Obama’s status as a “natural born citizen” as prescribed in the Constitution, the Naturalization Act of 1790, and an 1875 Supreme Court decision (Minor vs. Happersett, 88 U S 162). Essentially what that says is that John can show harm to his political aspirations from the Obama candidacy, that of a candidate not eligible to serve as President of the United States of America. All of the Republican Party presidential candidates are well aware of this matter, as are all Senators, Congressmen, and the leadership of the Republican Party machine yet they do nothing, they say nothing. They do nothing and say nothing because there are Republicans waiting in the wings who are also not eligible to run for President, but will be promoted by the party machine when it suits their purpose. The Constitution just gets in their way of their later plans if they challenge Barak Obama’s eligibility status.

John is a man of values and principle first, not last. He has taken on this effort for the presidency because he believes in the sanctity of our laws and the Constitution, and the hand of God in all of it. America is first and foremost to John Albert Dummett. He desires to see his grandchildren grow up with the freedoms and liberties he grew up with. He desires to see our nation returned to the status of “a shining city on a hill” as described by John Winthrop in the 1700’s. John has no desire to establish a “Theocracy”. His desire is to take our nation back to the founding principles that made the United States such a success for so many years.

I believe John Dummett is today’s Hidalgo. He is a registered and recognized candidate in all 50 states and the Federal Election Commission. He will be on the ballot in all 50 states so when the primary in your state rolls around please vote for John. He has the spirit, the values, the honor, and the dignity needed to restore America to what it was designed to be by God and our founding fathers. John is the man we need sitting in the White House in January 2013. He will end the czar program. He will end the subsidies to foreign governments who hate us and only use us for our money. He will end the subsidy to that band of terrorists we call the United Nations. He will end the corruption we see at both ends of Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington D. C. And on the second day he will …………………..

John has my support and my heart in his quest to restore America. I hope you will give him a look and the opportunity to serve this nation and its people. John needs your financial and physical help to fight the good fight against favoritism, cronyism, and party politics. Together we can reform politics but it will take all of us united against the ruling class of both political parties. Our nation needs for each and every one of us to step up and make a difference. Helping John Albert Dummett become the 45th President of the United States of America could be the most valuable effort you will ever give to any cause.

You can find out more about John at his website:

May God Bless John Dummett, May God Bless You, and May God Bless the United States of America.

Senator Jeff Sessions: The State Department Says Obama Eligible to Be President

I got probably the most incredible e-mail I have ever received today. An alert from World Net Daily notified me that Sen. Jeff Sessions of Alabama, who has been a senator since 1996 (that is 15 years), has come out and answered the Obama eligibility issue. He said that the State Department has certified that Obama is eligible to hold the office of President of the United States and that the Constitution is not the determining factor in this issue. Once again I refer back to the AFLAC duck of a previous article HUH????????? What is wrong with our members of Congress? How has this guy managed to spend 3 terms in the senate if he doesn’t know the basic tenets of the Constitution?

This man is a senior Republican, not a new guy on the block or a looney tune Democrat. I have been roundly criticized in some forums for my habit of denouncing Republicans as much as Democrats. I have consistently warned of the RINO’s in the Republican Party, those who make the policy that is forced upon the members of the caucus. Nothing gets done without the blessing of the leaders of the Republican caucus. They have to sign off on anything the party supports in either house in Congress.

Jeff Sessions is one of the darlings of the McConnell faction of the Hugo Chavez government in Washington D. C. because he is “civil and bi-partisan”. Folks, this is the very problem with our federal government, and many states for that matter. He sits up there making laws for We the People to follow and he either doesn’t know or doesn’t care what our founding document, The Constitution of The United States of America, says about eligibility to hold the highest office in our land.

As we teeter on the edge of a dictatorship we find a long time senator, a Republican senator, supposedly a conservative senator, making a statement like this. I don’t know what to think about our chances of turning our nation around if this is what we have for support on our side. Well, actually I do know, we have no chance whatsoever. If this man is the best the Republican Party can do, and if this is the party attitude, on the issue of Barak Obama’s eligibility to hold office then our republic is lost.

I have been saddened by the lack of courage of Republican Party office holders, and the RNC itself, to come out and denounce Obama as the usurper he is. I see this lack of speaking out as either cowardice or complicity in our trip down the road to dictatorship and tyranny. Not one Republican of any prominence has come out to speak of this issue, at least not in the Constitutional aspect. They all apparently hide behind the State Department opinion.

This issue is one that will resonate with We the People because it is a valid issue and of critical importance. A few weeks ago Hugo Chavez announced himself as “president for life” in Venezuela. As I wrote in a previous article we are about 3-5 years behind Venezuela and gaining ground fast. I have watched Venezuela go from freedom to tyranny over the last 10 years. Obama and his crew of despots are ruling by executive order and bureaucratic fiat while the Republican Party sits on its hands and does virtually nothing more than posture and issue “we disagree” statements. This is the precise route taken by the “opposition party” in Venezuela over the years. Appeasement got them a dictator but those legislators are doing just fine. The people aren’t doing so well, but the ruling class in both parties live a fine life. Go along to get along is working out real well for the politicians there. It seems to be working out fine here also, at least for the politicians.

Kenneth Melson, Director BATFE

I wrote Darrell Issa and Charles Grassley a couple of weeks ago about the Operation Gunrunner/Fast and Furious debacle. I told them that Kenneth Melson, Eric Holder, and Barak Obama should be led out of their offices in handcuffs, be charged with violating gun laws, and be charged with treason over this blatant attempt to subvert the laws of the land and the Constitution. I hear nothing back from them. I write letters to members of Congress asking that they investigate the Obama birth certificate forgery, a forgery so obvious even I can see it. I don’t need forensic studies to tell me it is a fake; I can see it with my own eyes. I hear nothing back from them.

People tell me I need to shut up, stop criticizing Republicans and vote Democrats out of office. Why vote Democrats out of office if it means voting in another Jeff Sessions, another Mitch McConnell, another John McCain, another John Boehner, or another Lindsey Graham? Does it matter if we are a dictatorship 5 years from now or 7 years from now? Wow, I can add another 2 years or so of pseudo freedom if I will blindly support Republicans, what a plus for the country.

Ladies and Gentlemen, we face a crisis that can’t wait. We need 300 million people sending this to Congress. We need every Republican and every Independent sending this to the RNC, to their state Republican Party chairmen. We need to throw these people out now or we will not have a republic in 5 -7 years. We will find ourselves sitting in FEMA camps wondering what happened. We will find the freedom won with the blood and lives of patriots over 235 years is gone, probably forever.

I have never been, nor will I ever be, a partisan political hack. I believe in the Constitution, as written, and as intended by God and our founding fathers. I am told that if I refuse to support the Republican candidate for president, regardless of who it is, that I am helping Barak Obama get re-elected. How much difference does it make if we have Obama or Gingrich, Obama or Romney? Is the extra few years it will take to destroy America all that is important? How much difference will it make if we have Marxist or Marxist light in control of government? Two peas in a pod to me.

We need people like Tim Cox of GOOOH to be successful. He is looking for grassroots people to run for the House of Representatives, common people who know what it is like to live life in the every day, not some lawyer who never did anything but politics. Our rulers now get law degrees and run for office, local, state, and then federal. They are career politicians who do nothing else their entire lives. They have no clue what it is like to manage a household budget, deal with rising prices on everything, or try to get an education for their children in schools that teach communism instead of the Constitution, schools that teach “diversity, tolerance, and acceptance” instead of teaching the Bible and right from wrong, or how to read and write.

We need to repeal the 17th Amendment and once again have senators appointed by the states as designed by our founding fathers. They spend much of their time raising campaign money and the rest of their time paying off the big money donors with political favors, i.e. Wall Street, Unions, banks that are “too big to fail” etc. They owe their allegiance to donors not We the People of their respective states. The Senate was designed to represent the interests of the states, not the people directly. We need the state governments to stand on the 10th Amendment and demand their status as written in the Constitution. Unfortunately the party machinery owns most of the state governments also. If they want to run for higher office they play the party game to get the support of the national office for their campaigns.

I am looking for the people who will stand up and be counted on to make the Constitution and We the People the focus of government. I am looking for those who will stand for individual freedom, individual responsibility, free markets, secure borders, and limited government, not stand for a party that is “not as bad a the other party”. I am looking for people who will use the energy sources God gave this nation as a means to support our people so we don’t have to be at the mercy of countries and people who hate us. I don’t want to be Brazil’s best oil customer. I want our own sources of energy tapped and used in a safe and efficient manner, which is entirely doable with today’s technology.

Sadly, Senator Jeff Sessions in not the exception in Congress, he is the rule. This is the way they think, about themselves not We the People and the Constitution. Until these kinds of people are eradicated from government we will never be a free people. It is critical that we let them know this is not acceptable, and even more critical that we do something about it. Do you remember what Senator Trent Lott, another RINO of the first order, said after the TEA Party run in the November 2010 mid-term elections? He said “ we will just co-opt these people when they get to Washington”. Who voted against John Boehner as Speaker of the House of Representatives or Mitch McConnell as minority leader? Is Lott’s statement the attitude of a conservative elected to public office? Is this the Republican Party people demand I blindly support? That doesn’t sound like cowardice to me, it sounds like complicity in the enslavement of We the People under a tyrannical government only interested in preserving the power, wealth, and prestige of the ruling class. Senator Lott’s statement is not the statement of a servant of the people. It is the statement of an arrogant ruler who will have his way regardless of what We the People want or what the Constitution says or means.

People, time is short. Every person in this country who values freedom needs to get busy changing what is happening to us. I can write all day, I can send this to every person in Congress, but until you make your voices heard, one voice with one message, nothing is going to change. I am one voice but you are millions of voices. We need to speak together to tell both parties that this is not acceptable. If you blindly support either party you will get more of the same. Politicians like to talk about “mandates”. I have not seen anything in the “mandates” of either party that truly includes We the People.

Today is the day the Lord has made, what will you do with it? I started my day, with my wife, in prayer for our nation, our “leaders”, our military, their families, and our family. I have spent the rest of the morning and half of my afternoon figuring out how to make a difference in the future of our nation. Will you take the time to send this to your congressional delegation, the RNC, your state elected officials? Will you make the effort to send this to everyone you know and urge them to stand up for freedom? Will I be the only one who puts pressure on Congress to do what is right or will you stand with me for freedom? God Bless America
I submit this in the name of the Most Holy Trinity, in faith, with the responsibility given to me by Almighty God to honor His work and not let it die from neglect.

THE FAIRTAX: America’s Road to Prosperity

THE FAIRTAX: America’s Road to Prosperity

A couple of years ago I began hearing about a new concept in taxation.  This new concept is called The FairTax.  I didn’t pay much attention because I thought “how is any tax fair?” when some pay and some don’t.  At first I dismissed it as another scam to throw me off the track of an out of control government looking for another way to hoodwink me into paying more of my hard earned money into their grand spending plans.

I have long since grown tired of paying so much of my money into growing, and useless government programs that pay people to sit on their butts and spend my money.  Welfare expenses keep going up as more and more people find ways to game the system by having babies, faking injuries, working for cash under the table, etc.  The ultra-rich hide their money in “foundations” or overseas to avoid the taxes I have been paying for 45 years.  They are all getting over on the other working stiffs who are too stupid, too honest, or unable, to do these things.  These money pits keep growing as the amount of available income to tax drops.

One of my pet peeves with income tax is those who don’t pay any.  While I was paying 32% in my working years the local drug dealer was paying nothing.  The local prostitutes who hang out on street corners in the bigger cities or work out of high priced hotels were paying nothing.  The illegal aliens who were working for cash were paying nothing.  I had noticed the illegal aliens especially.  They were everywhere and driving much nicer vehicles than I was, or am now driving (I don’t hang out where the hookers hang out).  I was paying a 25% income tax, a 7.5% social security/Medicare tax, plus state taxes, and being told the government couldn’t afford for me to retire while those not paying taxes lived the good life.  I struggled, they flourished.  That is when The FairTax began to make sense to me.

I heard Neal Boortz one day talking about this new plan on his radio show.  I listened with interest and thought it sounded good but never really did any more to learn about The FairTax.  In the last election cycle, the 2010 mid-terms, I kept bumping into Carol Chouinard and she kept handing me literature about The Fair Tax.  I took the information and looked it over without really spending a lot of time educating myself on this new concept.  Interesting but, ehhhh!!!!

One day I was going through a stack of papers that had accumulated over a few months, actually several months, and found the literature Carol had given me.  As I read through the brochures and leaflets I began to realize that this was not the run of the mill scam to get more of my money.  This was an idea that made sense to me once I really looked at it.

Carol is the local guru on The FairTax.  She lives in Rogers County, 2nd Congressional District, State of Oklahoma.  She travels throughout Eastern Oklahoma, or anywhere else for that matter, presenting The FairTax to any group or person who will give her a chance to enlighten them.  I ran into her again the other night and we got to talking about political issues and The FairTax came up.  Well, I was complaining about the current debt ceiling debacle and how to deal with it.  Carol began to explain some more about how The FairTax was the answer to much of the problem.

As I listened to her a light bulb came on in my head, the squirrel began to spin the cylinder.  The things I had read came back to me and began to make sense.  I began to remember about the way our tax system keeps hard working honest people in bondage while those who don’t mind cheating skate by without paying anything, only taking from those of us who do things the right way.  Carol gave me a book about The FairTax.  It is the second book called FairTax: The Truth.  The first book, The FairTax, came out in 2005.  This book was published in 2008 so is 3 years old as I start this article.  Much of the information I will include in future articles about The FairTax will come from updates from the FairTax web site as I want to give you the most up-to-date information and statistics available.

One solution I see to our fiscal problems in this plan is the title, The FairTax.  From everything I have read and the research I am doing, this plan solves many of the financial problems we face as a nation, the issue of money paid in taxes.  I find that this plan is aptly named.  I often hear Democrat and sometimes Republican politicians, especially those in Washington, cry about how “the rich” get over by not paying enough taxes. Yeah, like the politicians pay “their fair share”.  Remember the hullaballoo a few months ago about Senator John Kerry, the one who parked his multi-million dollar yacht, $7 million yacht to be exact, on the far side of the bay because the state taxes on that yacht were cheaper there than on his side of the inlet?   $500,000 per year cheaper to be exact.   So much for Washington’s multi-millionaire insiders being concerned about paying their fair share of taxes.  Hmm, I wonder where I am going to park my $7 million yacht.  Oh, never mind, I don’t have one.

I also hear many “poor” people make the same statements, “the rich need to pay more taxes”.  The problem with the “poor” complainers is that most of the ones I know don’t pay any taxes at all either.  Most of the “the rich need to pay more taxes” crowd, at least the ones I know personally, are on the dole. They are drawing welfare, food stamps, social security disability, state aid, etc.   Many of them either don’t work at all or work part time. They pay nothing and spend much of their time complaining that they don’t “get enough help from the government”.  They have cell phones for themselves and their children, several have big flat screen HD televisions, complete with the latest game consoles, cable TV service, cigarettes, and are usually well stocked with beer in the fridge.  Actually, I need the “rich” people to continue to be “rich”.  They are the ones who will hire me, hopefully, so I can make a little money.  Poor people never seem to hire me for anything.

In the spirit of “transparency”, my wife and I both have cell phones, we have cable TV service, and one 37 inch flat screen HD television set.   Before you say “AHAH!!!” let me offer a caveat to this.  We don’t get any help from the government and are not exactly in the “rich folks” category.  I am retired but not old enough to draw social security, my wife works a full time job, and we have a small Mom & Pop business that gives me a little work and usually provides us very little in the way of profit.  As a matter of fact, if the business doesn’t make a profit in 2011 we are going to have to shut it down.  I work part time for a friend when he needs help on a project but the rest of the time I spend working on and around the house.  We have a 1976 Chevy pickup that my father-in-law gave to us when he became unable to drive.  We have a 1995 Ford Escort that my mother-in-law gave to us when she became unable to drive.  We also have a 2004 Dodge PT Cruiser with over 100,000 miles on it (it was a demonstrator model).  We don’t owe any money on our cars, and live in a 101 year old house with a $60,000 mortgage.  Not exactly Beverly Hills here, but we don’t get any government assistance either.

To get back to the point of this article, our nation cannot keep going the way it is financially.  We cannot continue to borrow and spend, drive businesses out of the country, and raise taxes on the “rich”, those making $250,000 per year or so, the small to medium businessman/family who provide the bulk of the jobs in this nation.  We have to do something to bring the jobs back to the United States.  We need to make it feasible for those who hide their money to use that money to provide jobs so those who desire to work but can’t find a decent job can get back to work.  Giving people unlimited unemployment pay is not the answer to prosperity, it is a handout not a hand up.  Many of those drawing that unemployment would work if they could find a job.  Some of them are lazy bums that are looking for a handout but most, and I do mean MOST, are honest hard working people who just want to provide for their families.

The FairTax is a method to accomplish this task of financial recovery and prosperity.  In the next installment of this series I intend to delve into how our current tax structure is designed to inhibit rather than enhance prosperity.  I will cover the costs of enforcing and complying with the current tax code and how it affects every person in America, tax payer and non-taxpayer.  The FairTax books are a treasure trove of information about how our financial system works, or doesn’t work, and what We the People can do if we will stand up and demand that the politicians change the way they do things.  Other installments will cover more aspects of The FairTax plan and how we go about getting it implemented by politicians that are more concerned about themselves than We the People.  Elections are only 18 months away, so let’s get to work changing our future.  God Bless America

I submit this in the name of the Most Holy Trinity, in faith, with the responsibility given to me by Almighty God to honor His work and not let it die from neglect.

Obama, Members of Congress, Conservatism is Ready and Awaiting Your Attention

I was listening to Rush Limbaugh today and he described me like he had known me all my life, like he was looking into my mind.  He was talking about how the media, and politicians in both parties, say that 40% of the voting population is partisan, hard core Republican, and 40% is partisan, hard core Democrat.  They assume that 80% of the population is going to vote party line, regardless of the results.  Independent voters, 20% of the population, are the key they say.  Keep these 40%-40%-20% numbers in mind.    Rush made the observation that these same pundits and politicians consider Independents lacking enough intelligence or knowledge to understand policy, or the Constitution for that matter.  The 20% can’t make up their minds or don’t know what they want.  They are the Sarah Palin dummies to them (not criticizing Palin here).  For that reason both parties deluge us with talking points, evasions, very vague “pledges”, big spending made to look like budget cutting, grand promises, and outright lies.  The old political saying goes “if you can’t dazzle them with brilliance, baffle them with B S”.  I don’t baffle as easy as I used to.

I had been an Independent for 20 years, until 3 years ago.  When I woke up one morning and realized that my choices for President of the United States of America were Barak Obama and John McCain I had one of those “YIKESSSSS!!!!!!!!!” moments (Thank you Pastor Ted).   I had sat back and complained for years, and only complained, about what politicians were doing.  I found myself and my family with a choice of going off a cliff at 50 mph or 70 mph.  I wasn’t really concerned about the speed so much.  I wasn’t looking at the speedometer, I was concerned about that cliff I could see coming.  I knew that either way, my family, my wife, children, and grandchildren were going to come out on the short end of the stick.  It was time I started building a bridge, getting a foot on that brake, or both.

I knew tough times were coming and both parties had their foot on the accelerator, one pushing a bit harder than the other, but both with foot on.  The other foot was hovering over the brake pedal with “vote for us and we will put our foot on the brake” coming from both parties.  To date I haven’t been impressed with the braking ability of either party.  I have checked the brake system and it is in fine working order.  Obama, Members of Congress, conservatism is ready and awaiting your attention.

I am one of those 20% they are taking for granted, and taking for stupid.  Rush said he didn’t buy the 20% premise, and neither do I.  His view is that people like me are a lot more intelligent, and a lot more numerous than they give us credit for.  He also has confidence in the ability of America’s citizens to understand what is going on and be bright enough to see the steps needed to prosper.  I have that same confidence in the American people.  Rush spoke about people like me.   I believe he was talking about a lot more than 20% of voting citizens.

I changed my registration to Republican in 2009.  I had no chance of changing the Democrat Party, they were and still are too far gone for me to make any difference at all.  As the Democrat Party moved left the Republican Party moved left also and “moderates” took over the roost in the Republican Party.  I decided the only way for me to affect the future of our nation was to register Republican. I felt like I had at least some chance there.  I made the decision that I was going to do something to make a difference.  I wasn’t sure what to do or how to do it but I was going to find a way to put my Christian, conservative values to work for the betterment of my country, and my heirs.

God recently blessed me with an inspiration, and the mental and physical capacity to fulfill that inspiration.  God is the big one but I also get inspiration from the hundreds of thousands of people I see at TEA Party rallies and other gatherings.  I find people at online social networks that are just like me.  I find thousands out there who are where I am and some where I was 4 or 5 years ago. I see those who are far ahead of me in the quest for freedom and give thanks for those who have blazed the trail.  We are the reserves coming up to join in the battle at a crucial time in our nation’s history.  I see thousands of working class people of all faiths, all walks of life, who have awakened to a nightmare, an economy and a nation in shambles.   Instead of hiding under the bed we have suddenly stood up, said we have had enough, and are making our voices heard.  I say to all of you, this is not hopeless, we can win.  We are winning.  Our winning shows in the way they try to categorize us, isolate us, and play us to their advantage.

Rush Limbaugh has his finger on the pulse of America, the grassroots people who make this nation work.  He comes from a small Missouri town and has not forgotten his roots, or how he got to be where he is.  I share those conservative Mid-American roots.  We are more numerous, and more powerful, than some comprehend.

When I see Congress with an approval of 11%, I wonder where the 89% of voters who disapprove come from, who are these people?  Shouldn’t there only be a maximum of 60% disapproval, 40% either Republican or Democrat, and 20% Independents, depending on which party they poll?  These extra voters can’t be from Republicans or Democrats, not if they are staunchly partisan.  It can’t be from the illegal aliens, who owe their residence, welfare, and jobs to both political parties, but are supported more overtly by Democrats.  So where do they come from, who are these people?

When I look at the voting results that say 65% of Americans don’t want Obamacare, I assume that they are referring to the 40% who are Republicans and the 20% who are confused Independents.  I wonder where the other 5% of the population comes from, who are these people?   When I look at the 70% of Oklahomans who voted last November to say No to Sharia Law, to say NO to Obamacare, I wonder where the rest of the votes came from.  For instance, if Republicans are solidly against Obamacare, that is 40% against.  Add in every Independent against that is 60%, yet 70% of Oklahoma voters overall are against Obamacare, that leaves 10% of the voters unaccounted for.   A full 70% of Oklahomans voted against Sharia Law.  Where did the extra 10% of those voters come from?  They can’t be Democrats because the media says they are partisan and will not vote against the Democrat Party.  Who are these people, this extra 10%?  When I see thousands of state and local offices nationwide going to the Republicans who promised to listen to We the People, to change their ways, and truly get a grasp on the nation’s woes, I wonder where did those people come from, who are these people?

These people are the silent majority, those who have been taken for granted for too many years.  These are the people who have been living their lives and trusting those who cannot be trusted.   We’re the people who believed that politicians were like us and would govern like we would.  We are those people who haven’t been paying attention for many years, sleepily going about our lives and suddenly woke up to that nightmare I spoke of.  We are the people who have refused to hide under the bed but instead have stood up and said NO MORE!!  We are the people who are determined to leave America to our children and grandchildren as it was left to us.  We are the people who are pushing back at tyranny, the ones fighting for freedom.

Some still don’t see the danger.   Some are still waltzing around in a coma, not being able to see, or not wanting to see the cliff on the horizon.  Some will go right along on public assistance, happy to be supported by others.  Some believe “it can’t happen here”, and some go along just to get along.  Some are discouraged, like I used to be, thinking it is already hopeless, sitting and waiting for the plunge as if they can’t get to the brake, relegating themselves to a long plunge without a peep.

I believe we can get to the brake.  I believe We the People, with a firm reliance on Divine Providence, a firm grasp of the rights, and responsibilities, of citizenship, and a determination to make a difference can get to the brake and stop this runaway train.  It won’t be easy but we can do it.  Sacrifices are going to have to be made but there is enough waste and fluff in the federal budget that they can hold off on Medicare and Social Security for a while.  Waste and graft are for another article at another time.

Both parties play us with this and that, and while doing so they gradually pass laws or write executive orders that take away our freedoms a few at a time, and lately at much faster rate.  We have tried the liberal path to prosperity, it hasn’t worked.  We have tried the “moderate” path to prosperity and it hasn’t worked.  I wrote in an earlier article about the fiscal path we have taken since Reagan left office.  It hasn’t been a good path.  “Shared Sacrifice” isn’t working any better than “Compassionate Conservatism” did.  The terms are both code for grow government, squelch freedom, keep control of the masses.  We have not been made a freer or more prosperous nation by the Patriot Act and the TSA.  We will not be made a freer nation with “internet equality” or the “fairness doctrine”.

Conservative values, both financial and social, are what made the United States the great nation it has been and conservative values are what will take us back there.  Diversity and tolerance have their place in society but only after societal responsibilities have been accepted and put into practice.  Only after we revert to God and His Word, the Constitution, personal responsibility, and a willingness to accept that we owe those who have gone before us, and those who come after us, our very best efforts to restore America to that “shining city on a hill” described by John Winthrop so many years ago.

Obama, members of Congress, conservatism is ready and awaiting your attention.   I am ready and awaiting your attention to conservative values.  Thousands of America citizens are ready and awaiting your attention to conservative values.  To you career politicians, your way hasn’t worked, try mine for a change and see what happens.  History shows us that conservatism works much better than socialism, communism or fascism.

I submit this in the name of the Most Holy Trinity, in faith, with the responsibility given to me by Almighty God to honor His work and not let it die from neglect.
